Halloween in Brazil.

Halloween is a festival celebrated on October 31st in many parts of the world. The origins of Halloween take us back to Ancient Ireland and a Celtic fire festival know as "Samhain" wich was consideret the last day of summer.
Nowadays this festival is celebrated around the world, in countries such as, England, U.S.A, Spain, Irland, and also in Brazil.
But in Brazil it's strange, because our culture is very different, and the Halloween lost its original characteristic.
In the U.S.A or England: children dress up as ghosts, devils or witches,
and go from house to house. They ask "Treat or Trick". Their neighbour has to give them a treat (usually many kinds of candys, sweets, chocolate) or they play a trick on them.
In Brazil it is very different: peolple celebrate this festival with a party in high schools or English language schools. The celebration doesn't have the same meaning. There are some sweets and Brazilian songs. There aren't scary stories, but there is a scary decoration.
We've got a rich folklore and many stories, for example: about "Saci", "Curupira", "Iara", Lobisomem", and so on. So, I think we souldn't celebrate feslivals like Halloween. Like me, many Brazilan are bored with this situation. The government criated in Brazil "the day of Saci" on the same date as Halloween.
Maybe my beautiful country can transformer October 31st in a national date "the day of Saci", but, I think it's impossible!!!
