This blog is about Brazil the most beautiful country in the world. However, I won't tell about Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo or Amazonas. I'm going to tell about less famous cities. So, I'm Tálita de Oliveira Borges and I'll first tell you about the city that I was born: Goiânia.
Goiânia is the most important city and the capital of Goiás in the Center East of Brazil. It's a big and beautiful city.
It was fouynded on October 24th, 1933 from an urban plan that transfered the old capital of Goiás (Vila Boa) to a modern and new place. As a matter of fact, the transfer was necessary, because the old capital woul support the growth of a capital.
But Goiânia developed more tham the first espectations. Nowaldays, its population is 1,24 million inhabitants.
When you visit Goiânia be prepared for strong emotions. People here are very friendly, some are attractive, polite and sometimes funny.
There are some beautiful places, like: parks, monuments, theaters, shopping centers, clubes, open markets, squares and, specially at night, with its shows, pubs and lights.
You must get to know these places: Bosque of Buritis, Goiânia theater, 3 races monument in the Civic Square, Anhangüera monument in Anhangüera Avenue corner with Goiás Avenue, Vaca Brava park, Zoo park, Multirama park, Flamboyant shopping center, moon open market, and so on.
Last but not least, you need to try the typical Goiânia/Goiás food; it's delicious, such as: "pequi", "empadão", "pamonha", "guariroraba", and so on. After wards, I'm going to tell you more about the foods we have here.
